Elder Houston W. Patrick

Elder Houston Patrick, May 06, 1934 - February 16, 2019Elder Houston W. Patrick, age 84, died Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Diversicare in Martin.

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 23, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Martin with Elder Ricky Harcrow officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2019, from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, or after 9:00 A.M. Saturday morning at the church.  Graveside service will be in Sebastopol Cemetery in Sebastopol, Mississippi at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, with Elder David Pyles officiating.

Pallbearers are Adam Adkins, Roger Adkins, Adam Hollis, Jimmy Crawford, Freddie Brasfield and Johnny Caudle.  Honorary Pallbearers are Primitive Baptist Ministers, Martin Rotary Club, Weakley County Mayor, Jake Bynum, Weakley County Courthouse Staff and Weakley County Commissioners.

Mr. Patrick is survived by his wife of 57 plus years, Maxine Cockroft Patrick of Martin; his son, Joseph Madden (Jennifer) Patrick of Spring Hill, TN; two sisters, Dorothy Merle (Raymond) Skinner and Mary Anna McDonald both of Mississippi.

Mr. Patrick pastored Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church for 44 years.  He served 24 years as Weakley County Register of Deeds and served eight years as Weakley County Mayor.  In earlier years he worked for Weakley County Co-op.  He earned a BS Degree from Mississippi State University and a MS Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin.  He was a veteran, U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, D.B. Patrick and Grace Madden Patrick; sister, Nell Diffenderfer; brothers, Herbert, Hiram, Colin and James E. Patrick.
